DUBLIN, Monday 23 July 2012 – Leading IT security services provider, Ward Solutions, today announced that it is to increase its workforce by 50 per cent. The company plans to invest €3 million and create 20 new jobs for highly qualified and experienced information security professionals and sales staff. This news follows the doubling in size of its Dublin Citywest information security facility where the jobs will be based. The news was welcomed at today’s event by the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD.
Speaking at the official opening of the new Ward Solutions facilities, Minister Bruton said: “Key to the Government’s plans for jobs and growth is building on our achievements in attracting world-leading multinationals to provide more benefits for the domestic economy and in particular Irish companies. If we are to create a powerful engine of indigenous business, we must ensure that more Irish companies can succeed and grow in sectors like ICT, pharmaceuticals and medical devices where we have world-leading multinational companies carrying out high-value activities here. Today’s announcement that Ward Solutions, an innovative Irish IT security company built on multinational clients and impressive export growth, is investing €3 million in expanding its activities and creating 20 jobs is a very welcome sign of what is possible in this field. I commend the company on their achievements and wish them every success in the future.”
Pat Larkin, Chief Executive at Ward Solutions said: “Ward Solutions’ Irish operations have continued to grow since we were established in 1999. In the past two years we have achieved 20 per cent annual growth, secured the employment of 20 new employees and acquired over 120 new customers. The planned future investment of €3 million announced today is about continuing to build on this momentum and delivering on our growth strategy. This includes the further addition of 20 new people to our workforce over the next two years. Today’s announcement is about increasing our footprint nationally and internationally and promoting our unique service offerings and innovations. For example, we have just launched an outsourced Information Security and Data Protection service that is offered on a 24 x 7 basis at a fraction of the cost of resourcing such a role or team. Ireland has provided Ward Solutions with the talent and workforce to build these new and unique capabilities and I look forward to our continued development of the business in this area.”
Information security is critically important to the modern corporate brand in terms of shareholder value, customer retention and revenue assurance. It also has a strong role to play in legal, regulatory and best practice requirements. The range and sophistication of threats to systems and infrastructure have increased dramatically in the last five years. This trend is forecast to continue based on the returns offered by cybercrime, fraud, and the pursuit of numerous political, terrorist and anarchical agendas. In response to this reality of our digitised world, Ward Solutions provides full security services and has end-to-end capabilities covering consultancy, assurance, solutions and incident response. This includes security auditing, Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) design and management, security hardware and software solutions.
The projected annual growth for the business is 300 per cent internationally and 50 per cent domestically. Today’s jobs announcement and official office opening signal the expansion of Ward Solutions business in response to this market need.
